Cuban Sayings is a cultural identity project and design nourish by the popular wisdom and humor to give new meanings to the proverbs of the Cuba Island. We believed that “a good understanding, an illustration was enough”; That is why we recreated and parodied, with illustrations the phrases born from the experience of our ancestors, and that transcended from one generation to generation.
Studio Profile:
Daniel Plutin is a graphic designer from Havana, Cuba. For him, design is very important since it opens the possibility to interact with society. Mostly he works with branding design., To him it is very exciting to create a concept for a product or a company and to translate the important values and ideas into images and emotions. In his opinion design is a connection with people, it tells stories, creates emotions, and provokes feelings. When designing, he always tries to focus on the main idea to communicate the essentials and the really important facts to the consumer. Right now he works in Rome, Italy, as a freelance graphic designer for different companies.
