Project title: Masters of Psychedelic Cumbia
Project details:
In 1971 Infopesa, a record label that for two decades, together with bands like Juaneco y su Combo and Los Mirlos, began the history of the psychedelic cumbia movement in Peru. All that legacy, the tapes of more than 500 LPs, were shelved when the company closed due to the crisis of the 80s. Twenty years later, the psychedelic cumbia began to gain followers all over the world, so the old productions became on cult records. Infopesa then decides to reissue those gems of psychedelic cumbia but giving it a contemporary aesthetic through the design of the covers; The premise was to redesign the covers using the original images of each album, taking all the possible graphic elements and giving it a psychedelic touch in a contemporary way through the collage technique.
